Shipping Policy — inspect-home.com
Effective Date: 09-09-2026
This Shipping Policy explains how containers move from origin to your hands — from import through port release to final pickup or delivery — and what to expect at each stage.
—
1. Origin & Import Transit
– Containers are manufactured and imported from China to the **Port of Baltimore**.
– Standard ocean transit plus U.S. customs clearance for this route typically takes approximately **45 days** from vessel departure. This baseline is reflected in the estimated lead time shown at checkout and in your order confirmation.
– Import timing can be affected by customs processing, port congestion, or documentation review outside our control. See our Refund & Return Policy for how extended delays (beyond 60 and 90 days past quote) are handled.
– You will receive status updates as your order clears each major milestone (departure, arrival at port, customs release, ready for pickup).
2. Port Pickup (Baltimore)
– All container pricing is quoted as **port price at the Port of Baltimore** — the base price includes the container only, picked up at the port.
– Buyers arranging their own pickup are responsible for:
– Bringing a trailer/chassis rated for the container’s size and weight.
– Having the appropriate hitch, lighting, and permits for road transport.
– Scheduling pickup within the window provided once the container is released and ready.
– Port storage/demurrage fees may apply if a container is not picked up within the agreed window after release (typically **5–7 business days**); these fees are the buyer’s responsibility.
– You must inspect the container at the time of pickup and note any damage, mis-grade, or configuration discrepancy on the pickup record before leaving the port — see Section 5.
3. Delivery Service (Optional, Fee-Based)
If you don’t have your own transport, we offer delivery from the Port of Baltimore to your site for an additional fee, quoted separately from the container price.
– **Delivery methods:** Tilt-bed (ground-level drop, most common and lowest cost) or flatbed/crane delivery (for tight-access sites or units too heavy/long for tilt-bed offload). Method availability depends on container size and your site conditions.
– **Delivery cost factors:** Distance from Baltimore, container size, delivery method, and site accessibility.
– **Lead time:** Delivery is typically scheduled within **3–10 business days** of the container being released and payment (including delivery fee) being finalized, depending on route and carrier availability.
– **Site requirements:** You are responsible for ensuring the delivery site is accessible (adequate clearance, level ground, no overhead obstructions for tilt-bed drop) and legally permitted to receive the container. Additional charges may apply if the driver cannot complete delivery due to inadequate site access, and redelivery will be treated as a new delivery charge.
– **Someone must be present** at the agreed delivery window to accept the container and sign for delivery.
4. Broker & Subscription Program Shipments
– Broker/wholesale program orders and dealer subscription orders ship on the same port-pickup/delivery terms above, per unit, on the cadence specified in your program agreement.
– Recurring subscription orders are queued against available port inventory each cycle; if a scheduled unit is delayed past its cycle date, you will be notified and offered a substitute unit, a delayed ship date, or a skipped cycle at no penalty.
5. Inspection & Discrepancy Reporting
– Inspect the container’s exterior and interior, and confirm size, grade, and configuration against your order **at the time of pickup or delivery**.
– Photograph and note any visible damage or discrepancy on the pickup/delivery record immediately, and report it to us within **72 hours**.
– Failure to inspect and document at the time of receipt may limit your eligibility for a damage or mis-shipment claim under our Refund & Return Policy.
6. Risk of Loss & In-Transit Damage
– Risk of loss or damage transfers to the buyer once the container is picked up from the port or handed off to the delivery carrier at your site.
– If you selected our delivery service and the container arrives damaged in a way not attributable to prior handling at origin, notify us within 72 hours with photos — we will coordinate the claim with the carrier and arrange a replacement or refund per our Refund & Return Policy.
– We are not responsible for damage occurring after successful delivery/pickup, including damage caused by improper offloading, site conditions, or third-party movers you engage independently.
7. Shipping Costs & Fees
– Container price (port price at Baltimore) and delivery fee (if selected) are shown separately at checkout.
– Port storage/demurrage, permit costs for oversized loads, and any site-access surcharges are the buyer’s responsibility unless caused by our error.
– Prices for delivery are estimates based on the information provided at checkout; final delivery fees may be adjusted if actual site conditions differ materially from what was described, and you will be notified before the adjusted charge is applied.
8. Website Security & Third-Party Incidents
inspect-home.com is not responsible for shipment or order-status issues arising from hacking, data breaches, or other cyber-security incidents beyond our reasonable control, including incidents affecting third-party carriers, payment processors, or hosting providers used to track or coordinate your shipment.
